..I wish you looked like this.
They really nailed good looking stationary design back in the old worldly days didn't they! Though these 1950's style journals do a pretty good job too. They're the work of Barbra Hubert Hand Bookbindery, all hand made in their workshop in Cork city, using traditional craft binding techniques and decorated with these cool graphic patterns and fabrics. I've posted her cute gingham covered recipe books in the post below and she also does beautiful little books, notebooks and photo albums along with book repairs and custom binding projects if you have an idea or item in mind. Galerie Lisette
I had the joy of discovering the utterly charming Galerie Lisette in the equally picturesque village of Enniskerry Co. Wicklow at the weekend. Run by mother and daughter duo, Architect Aida and her mother Lucina an accomplished textile artist, between them they stock a gorgeous collection of linen & lace hand-printed cushions, original screen-prints, etchings & greeting cards and some of their signature pieces of sourced furniture they have revamped. What's more they also run one day creative up-cycling workshops where they teach renovating and finishing techniques tapping into current flea market baroque trends. It really is the perfect antidote to recession gloom especially on a sunny day.

Love those Jar's
Reckon the swish packaging with these luxury soy candles by Wicklow's Brooke & Shoals would make great cotton-wool containers for the bathroom, obviously once they've filled your home with their gorgeous sounding fragrances! Shop owner Alison hand-make's them in her Greystones shop and they are also stocked in various stores here.

The Informal Florist
Its Friday, its spring time and the birds are tweeting where I am so I thought I'd share a wonderful discovery I came across at a Christmas market last year. She call's herself The Informal Florist and and I was taken instantly with what she calls 'mismatched, relaxed and non-traditional floral design'. I won't go on, she's just got a new website gallery up so just sit back , enjoy and smell the roses!
