Hipster Storage




Purveyor's of cool twentieth century design, Kirk Modern located in Sandymount, Dublin have managed to get their hands on these vintage Dutch apple boxes. They're a pretty hot trend right now, as stylish storage or stacked as bookshelves. They have a limited supply priced at €25 each (with a 10% discount if you buy more than 5).

They source vintage trouble cages (from 1950s upwards) or vintage shades and combine them with new elements such as woven silk flex and brass or bronze fittings to create these brilliant one off light fixtures. You'll find their handy-work hanging at hip joints such as The Fumbally cafe and WuffIf you fancy getting one of your own, they sell at the Brocante market held in Dublin on the 3rd Sunday of every month and also have a select range here.

Re - Joyce!



Here's a fun little quirky Bloomsday survival kit to help you unravel the so-called mysteries of Joyce's classic "
Ulysses"(Bloomsday is this  Sunday June 16th for those not up to scratch on their Joyce!) It contains this beautifully illustrated pocket sized manual which helps you figure out what's happening in the story, get ideas of what to do, what to wear and places to visit, and a bunch of fun and interactive props to help bring Ulysses to life. The Design Tower




Housed in an historic 1862 old sugar refinery in Dublin's Grand Canal Quay, the seven-story Design Tower is home to a group of skilled designers and makers. Brimming with some of Ireland's top creative talent, you'll find goldsmiths, jewellery designers, ceramics artists, sculptors, painters, textile, paper and painting conservationists and gallery spaces. This five minute film opens the doors to the studios and introduces you to some of the personalities, stories and bespoke designs created in the tower.
