Every Fragrance Tells A Story
I discovered Galway's Cloon Keen Atelier, about a month ago when I got a whiff of their Limoncello candle, yep that's right 'Limoncello', with notes of Sorrento lemon peel, white flowers and vodka no less! Well the master fragrance artisans are about to celebrate their 10th Anniversary this month and filmmaker Kamil Krawczak has created a gorgeous series of little films which explore the lives of the craftsmen behind the brand (which includes a range of candles, perfume and body lotions all encased in lush simplistic designer packaging that are an art in themselves. ) The first short posted above - 'Every Fragrance Tells A Story' introduces Mary Mundy, Cloon Keen Atelier's Perfume Technician. She's an artist's muse, a Morris Minor lover and makes great scones apparently!..Check out that car. [Image credit - Cloon Keen Atelier / Video credit - Kamil Krawczak] |

Better Fashion Week 23rd -30th April
Better Fashion Week is on in Dublin right now and there's a whole manor of great events and talks going on at their HQ all this week in Castlemarket street, D2 which is where you will also find their pop-up shop (see above) packed to the brim with some uber cool fashion pieces and great Irish designed apparel and accessories like these illustrated tweed hats by Dublin design duo Blue Fingers. It's well worth a visit if only just to see the cool-factor in action! |

Look closely!
Wowzers!...Check out these stunning pic's from digital artist Phil McDarby. He takes beautiful photographs of our Irish landscape (like the last 3 posted here from Wicklow) and uses them as inspiration to digitally paint these other-worldly scenes like straight out of The Lord of the Rings. They are packed with detail and lovely quirky little magical creatures and surprises everywhere. If you are in Dublin this week you can catch his first solo exhibition at the Copper House Gallery opening this Wednesday. [Image Credit - Phil McDarby] |
